### What is the difference between aluminium and zinc die casting?

Aluminium is lighter and suits larger housings, while zinc gives finer detail, thinner walls and better plating for small parts.

### How much does a die-casting die cost?

Die cost depends on part size, cavities and slides, and is higher than sand-casting patterns. Get a quote that states the guaranteed die life.

### Can die castings be anodised?

Die-cast aluminium does not anodise well because of its silicon content. Powder coating, e-coating or plating are better choices.
