SourceSquid developed city bikes for the Dutch market with a manufacturer in Ludhiana, Punjab, India’s bicycle capital, for WRA. We wrote the specifications and bills of materials with the factory, managed the quotations and set up export packing, with compliance built into the specification from the first line.

The brief
What the client asked for.
WRA, based in the Netherlands, brings bicycles to the Dutch market. Dutch riders expect a proper city bike: upright, low-maintenance and made to live outdoors.
The brief was a range built in India to that standard: two adult city bikes and a kids’ bike, with every European requirement written into the specification rather than checked at the end.

A 28-inch lady’s city bike on a 55 cm TIG-welded frame with coaster hub, Dutch-style bar, double-wall alloy rims, reflective tyres, steel mudguards, front carrier and an AirTag mount bridge. A single-speed city bike on a 50 cm TIG-welded frame.

A 16-inch kids’ bike built to ISO 8098, with a clear plan for what is made where: 22 components made in India and 17 imported.

Reflectors to ISO 4210, PAH-free grips and parts, REACH-compliant tyres, low-lead tubes, and salt-spray requirements of 500 hours for ED-black parts and 72 hours for zinc-plated parts.
