What to ask for in the RFQ and check when goods arrive.

  • For recycled claims, ask for GRS transaction certificates.
  • Specify tenacity, denier and elongation for technical uses such as webbing.
  • Test colour fastness and pilling for apparel fabrics.

Why is Surat important for textiles?

Surat has a very large base of polyester weaving, texturising, dyeing and printing, making it India's main source of synthetic fabrics.

Can I get recycled polyester from India?

Yes. Recycled polyester made from PET bottles is widely produced, and GRS-certified suppliers are available.

What is Bhilwara known for?

Bhilwara in Rajasthan is a leading centre for suiting fabrics and spun yarns, especially poly-viscose blends.
